This policy covers billing, automatic renewal, cancellation, and refunds for BabyStory Premium, the app's optional paid subscription. Anything not covered here follows the Terms of Service Subscription & Refunds.
1. What Premium is, and what it costs
BabyStory's care logging and family sharing work without any subscription. Premium is optional: it raises the limits of the free plan and lets you get what you have already collected back out of the app.
| Free | Premium | |
|---|---|---|
| Growth album PDF export | Not included | Included |
| Quality of newly uploaded photos | Resized to a 2,048px long edge | Original |
| Photos per month | 60 | Unlimited |
| Babies | 1 | Multiple |
| Family members | 4 | 20 |
| Logging, widget, icons | Identical — never gated behind the subscription | |
Photo quality applies only to photos uploaded from then on. Photos already stored are never changed — neither when a subscription starts nor when it ends.
- Monthly — ₩2,900 per month
- Yearly — ₩29,000 per year
Prices shown are for the Republic of Korea and include VAT. In other countries the equivalent price set by Apple or Google for that storefront applies. The amount actually charged is always the one shown in the App Store or Google Play payment sheet before you confirm.
Premium applies per family. If one member of a baby's record subscribes, everyone sharing that record gets the benefits. A family never needs to pay more than once.
Premium is purchased through the Apple App Store in the iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps, and through Google Play in the Android app. The benefits are the same whichever store you buy from, and if you already subscribe they apply on any device you use.
2. Billing and automatic renewal
- Payment is charged by the store you bought from: to your Apple Account for App Store purchases, or to your Google Account for Google Play purchases. The developer never receives or stores your card or payment details.
- The subscription renews automatically. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, you will be charged again for another period of the same length.
- The renewal charge is taken within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage the subscription and turn off automatic renewal in the store you bought from — App Store account settings for App Store purchases, Google Play subscription settings for Google Play purchases. Section 3 has the exact paths.
2-1. If a free trial is offered
Whether a trial is offered, how long it lasts, and whether you are eligible for it are determined by the store (App Store or Google Play); the app simply shows what the store reports on the purchase screen.
Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends. If you buy a paid subscription during a trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited.
3. How to cancel
You can cancel at any time. In the app: Settings → Premium → Manage subscription opens the subscription screen of the store on the device you are using. You can also do it in the store directly.
If you bought in the App Store (iPhone, iPad, Mac)
- iOS Settings → your Apple Account (your name at the top) → Subscriptions → BabyStory → Cancel Subscription
- or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
If you bought in Google Play (Android)
- Play Store app → profile icon (top right) → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → BabyStory → Cancel subscription
- or play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
After cancelling you keep Premium until the period you already paid for ends, then the account returns to the free plan. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription — you must cancel it in the store you bought from, using one of the methods above.
4. Refunds
Refunds are handled under the policy of the store you bought from. The developer has no direct access to your payment method.
App Store purchases (iPhone, iPad, Mac)
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. The developer has no ability to cancel a charge or issue a refund on Apple's behalf. Please request a refund here:
- reportaproblem.apple.com — sign in with your Apple Account, choose the purchase, and submit a request
- or iOS Settings → Apple Account → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History → Report a Problem
The developer cannot overturn Apple's decision.
Google Play purchases (Android)
Refunds for Google Play purchases follow Google Play's refund policy. Please request a refund here:
- play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory — find the order and choose Report a problem
- or Google Play Help: request a refund
Unlike Apple, for Google Play purchases the developer can issue a refund directly through the Google Play Console. If Google did not grant your request, or if one of the cases below applies, please write to the developer.
When to write to the developer
Whichever store you used, if any of the following happened, please write to nerdens.seong@gmail.com — the facts will be checked and you will be helped to get a refund. For App Store purchases a written confirmation you can submit to Apple will be provided; for Google Play purchases the developer refunds you directly.
- You were charged but Premium features did not unlock.
- A defect or outage in the app prevented you from using what you subscribed for.
- The features delivered differ from what was advertised.
Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence. Users in the Republic of Korea have the withdrawal rights described in the Korean version of this page.
5. Price changes
If the subscription price increases, the store (Apple or Google) notifies you in advance under its own policy, and the subscription will not renew unless you agree to the new price. Periods you have already paid for are never repriced retroactively.
6. Your data after the subscription ends
Nothing is deleted when a subscription ends. The free plan's limits apply only to what you add from then on.
- Photos you already uploaded stay and remain viewable, and photos stored at original quality while you were subscribed are never re-compressed. Only the number of new photos per month, and the quality new uploads are stored at, return to the free plan.
- Growth album PDFs you already exported are yours to keep. Only exporting a new one is limited.
- Family members who already joined stay. Only new invitations are limited.
- Every baby record you created remains, and you can keep switching between them. Only adding a new one is limited.
